Final Paper Submission

Final Paper Submission Deadline

November 22, 2011 (Japan Standard Time: GMT+9)
The submission deadline is firm and there will be no extensions. The WEB site for the final paper submission will be closed at 24:00 on Nov. 22, 2011 (JST).
  • A no-show paper will not be included in IEEE Xplore.
  • Each Full (Early) registrant can upload up to two papers without extra charge.
  • At least one of the authors listed on the paper must register for SII 2011 when the final manuscript is uploaded. Otherwise the paper will not be published in the event documentation including CD-ROM.
If your paper has been accepted, please prepare the following materials:
  1. Final manuscript in PDF (max 2 MB)
  2. IEEE PDF eXpress confirmation email of your paper's Xplore compliance (saved as a plain text file)
  3. A figure in JPEG for the Digest [45 mm (630 pixels) in width and 35 mm (490 pixels) in height]
  4. Abstract in a plain text file [less than 100 words] for the Digest
  5. The signed copyright form in PDF obtained from the IEEE e-copyright site
  6. Registration

1. Final Camera-Ready Manuscript (PDF)

Accepted authors must submit their final camera-ready manuscripts electronically in PDF format by the final submission deadline. Manuscripts must be written in English. Six pages in the standard IEEE conference paper format (use templates below) are allowed for each paper, including figures and tables. A maximum of two additional pages are permitted at an extra charge of JPY20,000/page payable at the registration site. Note that the PDF file must not exceed 2 MB.
Write your paper using the available LaTeX or MS Word templates (same as the ones used for the initial submission). Use US Letter paper for both LaTeX and MS Word template and do not change the formatting in any way.
Refer to this sample paper in PDF for the layout.

2. IEEE Xplore Compliance (plain text)

For your paper to be included in SII 2011 proceedings and the IEEE Xplore site, its PDF file must be IEEE Xplore compliant. You should login IEEE PDF eXpress using the conference ID, SII11x, to check the compliance. The confirmation email of your paper's compliance must be saved in a plain text file and submitted in the START system. Please see the information page for using IEEE PDF eXpress.

3. Figure for the Conference Digest (JPEG)

A figure in JPEG format for the Conference Digest [45 mm (630 pixels) in width and 35 mm (490 pixels) in height] must be submitted in the START system.
A figure file and an abstract are both printed in the book of abstract that will be distributed to all symposium participants. Please see the sample layout of booklet at the following link: "sample". The participants often use this booklet to determine which session should be attended. Hence it is important that the figure file and the abstract must represent the clear overview information of your paper. The formats of the abstract and figure file are at the first part of the sample.
  • The abstract must be written within 100 words.
  • The format of the figure file is as follows: single Jpeg file, max 500KB, 45 mm in width and 35 mm in height.
    • If you do not submit a figure file, the region of your figure in the booklet will be intentionally blanked.
    • Please keep in mind that the submitted figure will be printed in a region of 40mm(W)x35mm(H). Small letters might not be readable.
    • If your figure file is not JPEG format, the figure is not printed in the booklet.

4. Abstract (plain text)

Abstract saved in a plain text file [less than 100 words] for the Conference Digest must be submitted in the START system.

5. Signed Copyright (PDF)

A signed electronic copyright form (eCF) in PDF obtained from the IEEE e-copyright site must be submitted in the START system.

6. Registration

Follow the instructions on the registration page to pay the full (early) registration fee. At least one of the authors listed on each accepted paper must register for SII 2011 before the final paper submission.
